In the championship game Dukes faced Jersey Thunder Black, and jumped out early to get momentum on their side. Some excellent team defensive plays and groundball transition work, led to multi transition goals of the spectacular variety. Dukes won the game 8-5.
Every player contributed to overcome small numbers and playing roles they were not used to but still perserved to get the job done.
Defensively Jeff Kern (Saucon Valley), Matt Petrick (Kennett) also faced off, & David Wolfson (Shipley) controlled the defensive side of the field with aggression and quick slides offball.
Colin Reder (Episcopal Academy) helped keep the net empty and start the break. Chris Friedman (Great Valley), Jace Liszka (Emmaus) did an excellent job as 2 way middies.
Ben Wilkins (Southern Lehigh) was injured in first game.
Team Defensive MVPs went to Ryan Kern (Appoquinmink, DE) and Dustin Buchanan (CB EAST) who dominated groundball play.
Offensively Sam Fink (Salesianum), Brandon Shima (Haverford School), Zach Hare (Springford), Brady O'Neill (Kennett), Colin Strange & Zach Ward (both from Hempfield) provided offensive playmaking abilities and finishing touches at midfield.
Matt Schleicher (Emmaus), Keith White (Methacton) true attackmen were able to run midfield as well and provide scoring power when the opportunities arose.
Team Offensive MVPs went to Andrew Pettit (Tower Hill, DE) and Evan Wolf (Lower Merion).

Premier Freshmen Summer Tourney in he Country--Invited Frosh players only--$135. per player
Game 3 on Saturday was heavily attended by coaches and would be the toughest match up of the tourney for Dukes LC as they faced of against Annapolis Hawks. Great defense and goalie play highlighted this contest, but Dukes LC was able to get a couple of timely manup situations and upper 90 stingers to win 4-2. Drew Supinski (Haverford School) quarterbacked the manup and 1st midline to provide some solid play making abilities on both ends of the field.
Dukes LC earned the #1 seed in their bracket and advanced Sunday into Top 16 playoff round. First round game was played at scenic Boys Latin campus vs Building Blocks (NJ) and it was a tight affair but offense loosened up to pull away 6-3. Jeff Kern (Saucon Valley), Sam Lehrman (Germantown Academy), Matt Petrick (Kennett) were able to be a physical defensive presence to start the playoff round.
Quaterfinal matchup pitted Dukes LC vs Team Michigan, midfield depth and dominant faceoff X contributed to a 8-2 win. Andrew Pettit (Tower Hill), Keith White (Methacton), Matt Donnelly (Clearview, NJ), made some fine passes and finished when opportunities arose.
Semfinal matchup was against the historic Green Turtle program out of MIAA conference. All 3 Dukes goalies in Sean McGovern (CB EAST), Colin Reder (Episcopal Academy) and Ryan Kern (Appoquinmink, DE) had been consistent all tourney and provided last line of defense when needed all weekend. Dukes offensively was clicking and would pull away for a 7-2 victory. Damase Bagbonon (Conestoga) & John Warg (Parkland) provided a spark in transition and created some transition opportunities and timely groundballs at The LSM position.
Championship game pitted two programs that have won this tourney multi times. Baltimore Crabs, who host the tourney, vs Dukes LC who were looking for their 3rd Crabfeast title in 6 tries. Dukes LC was fired up from the start and would jump out to a 4-1 start off some excellent feeds and finishing abilities by Corey Richards (Haverford School). Baltimore Crabs had plenty of chances to keep game close with manup opportunities but play in goal from Ryan Kern on point blank opportunities saved the day on many occasions. Crabs would get game to 5-3 in second half before an open empty goal would seal the game 6-3 for the 2012 Crabfeast National Title!
Offensively, several players stepped up and were able to contribute.

Walk for Hope is an event Sarah Keating looks forward to each and every year.
City of Hope is an incredible organization, and Sarah knows this first hand.
Years ago, her husband, Dan, was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma,
a blood cancer that affects so many people and their families.
City of Hope's research led to the development and use of a monoclonal antibody drug, which is commonly known as "Rituxan." That drug, along with a chemotherapy regimen known as CHOP, led her husband back to health and gave them all their lives back.
Sarah will forever be grateful, much more grateful than I could ever put into words.

Notes: Open to any player interested in trying out for the Duke's lacrosse team.
Interested players must bring:
1) Duke's release, Haverford College release and $35.
If paying by Check make it out to Duke's Lacrosse.
Note: Any player making the Duke's Team out of tryouts will have his $35. Fee go towards his Uniform cost.
2) A Completed New Player Sheet is Required as well but only if you did not Complete and turn one in at the Ricky Whelan Clinics.
3) Bring a Reversible Pinney of any kind with Dark and Light sides.
4) Make sure you are properly Outfitted with All Equipment--Helmet, Stick, Gloves, Pads and that you have Footware to play on Turf fields.
5) Lastly, Pre-Registration with all needed items listed above will take place at the Haverford College Turf Fields 1 Hour before each Group is scheduled to Tryout. The Groupings and times are as Follows :
--Pre-Register 11 am--All Soph's, Juniors & Seniors--Tryout Time from 12 noon to 1:30 pm.
--Pre-Register 12 noon --All Freshmen --Tryout time from 1:45 pm to 3:30 pm.
--Pre Register 1 pm --All 6th, 7th & 8th graders --Tryout Time from 3:45 pm to 5:15 pm.
Note : 6th, 7th & 8th graders will be trying out for Duke's HHH Program and those tryouts may be ongoing.

Our players have attended Virginia, Duke, Johns Hopkins, Penn State, Ohio State, Georgetown, Maryland, Princeton, Cornell, Notre Dame, North Carolina and virtually every top program in the country.

Notes: The Philly Showcase Returns Better Than Ever in 2011
The Philly Lacrosse Showcase provides a highly competitive environment for elite high school players aspiring to play college lacrosse. Each registrant is placed on a team, is guaranteed participation in three games over the course of the morning, and has a chance to be selected to play in one of the Gait Lacrosse "Fab Forty" All-Star games in the afternoon. Additionally, every team will be coached by a top high school coach who, over the course of the morning, will focus on teaching advanced concepts and techniques to every player.
